5 Things I Wish I Knew Before My Wedding Day
On your wedding day, everything unfolds at a breathtaking pace, and it's easy to feel overwhelmed by all the emotions and festivities. It’s your first time being in this situation, and there’s no way you can be prepared for what’s going to happen! We have seen hundreds and hundreds of weddings, so here are 5 things you need to know before your wedding day:
Kindly ask your Maid of Honour or Bridesmaid to set aside some food
Your wedding day can be incredibly overwhelming that it’s not uncommon for brides to get so caught up in the whirlwind of emotions and activities that they neglect to eat throughout the day. To avoid this, consider asking your bridesmaid to set aside some food for you. It's essential to nourish yourself, as many brides have expressed regret over not having had a taste of even their own wedding cake 😔 Make sure you take a moment to refuel and enjoy the day, both during and after the celebrations.
2. Prepare emergency kit ⛑️
This is an absolute must have on your wedding day. This emergency kit is a collection of toiletries, safety pins, and essential medicines to fix any problems you might encounter on your big day, from a ripped hemline to a nauseous stomach or a broken earring. Not only will a bridal emergency kit help you fix small issues in a pinch, it'll give you peace of mind to know that you're prepared for anything.
3. Practice walking in your wedding shoes a week before your wedding
Never wear your bridal shoes for the first time on the day you get married because you will need a lot of plasters. Also, blisters are not what you'll want on your big day, so break in your bridal shoes and practice walking them on floors like those at your venue so you're ready for the day. Wear thick socks as you walk around the house so they will mould into a comfortable shape for your feet. Fun times! 👣
4. Have a quiet and personal moment with your partner after the party
Sneak in 10-15 mins personal moment on your wedding day schedules, to take a moment and spend time with just the two of you, with no one else around. The day will go by insanely fast and the quiet time will help you to take everything in, recharge your energy to enjoy the rest of your wedding day.
5. Bring your favourite snacks into your wedding 😛
Craving something a lil naughty after a big day? Did you know that you can just bring your favourite snacks or dessert INTO THE WEDDING? It could be your your favourite gelato shop, bubble tea shop, or even instant ramen. Your wedding day should represent you two as a couple. Your guest comes to your wedding day to celebrate the union of you and your partner, and.. they probably like sh*n ramyeon as much as you do 🍜 (not sponsored 👀)
In the end, trust your own preparation and leave everything to your lovely vendors on your wedding day. It's totally understandable that you want your wedding to go as smoothly as possible, but things might not go as planned. Remember to take a deep breath and trust that no matter what happened, this will be the best day of your life because you're getting married!
